Voting for the 2023 MLS Save of the Year presented by Allstate has opened on MLSSoccer.com and Philadelphia Union's brick wall is up for the league's top prize.
Andre Blake had countless remarkable stops in the regular season and the one nominated for the best of the year came against I95 rivals D.C. United in August. With the Union ahead by a 3-0 margin, the homeside nearly got back into the match when Mateusz Klich teed up a perfectly weighted cross into the box for Christian Benteke that forced a highlight-reel save from the three-time MLS Goalkeeper of the Year to keep the cleansheet. The ball fell to the post where Benteke attempted another shot that again was blocked before sending a centering pass for Klich. The midfielder unleashed a blast of his own as Blake got back into position but was denied as well with a headed effort by Glesnes.
