Box Score | Philadelphia Union 2, CF Montreal 2

Montreal, QC (October 16, 2021) – The Philadelphia Union battled CF Montréal to a 2-2 draw Saturday afternoon. With the draw on the road, the Union remain in third place in the Eastern Conference. The hosts took the lead in the 33rd minute. Off of a corner, Djordje Mihailovic found striker Matko Miljevic on the edge of the box. After taking a touch to his right, Miljevic buried a shot into the bottom right corner to give Montréal the 1-0 lead. Montréal would carry that 1-0 lead into halftime. The Union leveled the scoreline in the 63rd minute off of a Montréal own goal. Jamiro Monteiro’s freekick went through the crowd of players, off the post, and then off the Montréal keeper to make the game even at 1-1. The Union took advantage of another set piece in the 77th minute, with Kai Wagner giving the Union the 2-1 lead. Wagner’s goal was his third of the season and ties the club record for the most goals scored in a single season by a defender. Wagner is tied with teammate Jakob Glesnes with three goals in 2021 while Sheanon Williams netted three in 2014 . In the last moments of added time, the hosts leveled the scoreline off of a Sunusi Ibrahim header to split the points. With the 2-2 draw the Union remain unbeaten in their last six matches.

The Union are on the road at Allianz Field on Wednesday evening where they will play Minnesota. (8:00 p.m. ET / PHL17).
