CHESTER, Pa. (April 2, 2022) –  The Union beat Charlotte FC 2-0 on Saturday night at Subaru Park. With the win, the Union remain in first place in the Eastern Conference with 13 points. In the first half, forward Julian Carranza scored his first goal for the Union in the fourth minute with a shot to the top left corner, assisted by Sergio Santos and Kai Wagner. This was the quickest goal to open a match for the Union this season. Kai Wagner recorded his 20th career assist, making him the seventh player in club history to hit that mark, joining Sébastien Le Toux, Haris Medunjanin, Cristian Maidana, Jamiro Monteiro, Ilsinho and Alejandro Bedoya. The Union then doubled their lead after Daniel Gazdag capitalized on a goalkeeper mistake in the 46th minute. With tonight’s goal, Gazdag has scored in four consecutive matches. Goalkeeper Andre Blake recorded his third consecutive clean sheet of the season. The Union have now recorded four consecutive wins for the third time in club history, previously in 2017 and 2018.
