We started out with eight memorable goals and after some tight battles in the fan vote, we're down to four that can win the 2020 BIMBO Goal of the Year.
Grabbing the top spot was defender Jakob Glesnes' breakout goal from a long way out against LAFC on national television with the Norwegian center back scoring from 40 yards out off a free kick. He'll square off against one of two nominees from homegrown Anthony Fontana with his chipped goal against New England back on September 12th grabbing the No. 4 slot.
It's an all homegrown battle in the other semifinal as Fontana takes on Mark McKenzie in a battle of long-range rockets. McKenzie barely missed out on the No. 1 spot with his first MLS goal that was a doozy from a long way out that tied the match at rival D.C. United. Fontana on the other hand, was a winner in the 95th minute to help the Boys in Blue once more beat the Revs.
Voting for the semifinals will take place exclusively on the Union's Twitter and Facebook.
