The countdown is on to the start of the 2022 Major League Soccer season after it was was announced during the MLS Cup 2021 pregame that the full schedule for next season will be revealed on Tuesday, December. 15.
The news follows the announcement last month of the full list of home openers for all 28 clubs, including the league's newest expansion team, Charlotte FC. Philadelphia Union will host Minnesota United FC in the club’s 2022 home opener. The match is set for Saturday, February 26, with kick off from Subaru Park to be announced in the near future.
The Union’s home opener is also the opening date for MLS’ 2022 season. The last time the Union started their season at home was in 2019 when they hosted Toronto FC on March 2. Additionally, the Union will play CF Montreal on Saturday, March 5 at 4:00 p.m. ET for Montreal’s home opener at Saputo Stadium and will face Nashville SC on Sunday, May 1 at 4:00 p.m. ET in both their home opener as well as their stadium opener.
