As the calendar reads February 12, the world celebrates International Darwin Day to commemorate the birthday of scientist Charles Darwin. On the 210th anniversary of Darwin's birth, Philadelphia Union decided to take a look at the evolution of one of our own. Homegrown midfielder Anthony Fontana.
Fontana is the only player so far in the Union organization that has progressed all the way from the club's junior level through the full academy, graduate and then make it to the first team. On top of that, he scored his first league goal in his Major League Soccer debut.
