Philadelphia Union will finally be back in action this Saturday when they host New England Revolution, with kick off set for 7 p.m. at Talen Energy Stadium. For the MLS fantasy players out there, we’ve found three guys on our roster that will help your squad earn a victory this weekend.
Andre Blake – GK - $6.0
Union fans who selected Andre Blake in their fantasy drafts should be salivating at the mouth at this matchup for Blake against New England Revolution. Blake has been a beast in net when he plays the Revs, owning a career 3-1-1 record against the Revs. Blake’s last loss against New England came on Aug. 29, 2015. Since then, Blake is undefeated against New England and has allowed just two goals in five all-time meetings against the Revs.
Haris Medunjanin – MF - $9.0
Haris Medunjanin should be slotted in every fantasy lineups for those who selected him. The Bosnian proved extremely durable in his first MLS season playing played 3,057 minutes in 2017; the most by any Union newcomer in club history. Medunjanin proved to be a magician on the ball last season recording 12 assists which was the most ever in a season for a Union player in his first season with the club Medunjanin’s 12 assists was also tied for second most in a single-season by a Union player in club history. Fans who have Medunjanin in their lineup can expect a heavy dose of assisting production.
CJ Sapong – F – $9.5
CJ Sapong is another Union player that will be a no-brainer for fans to put in their fantasy lineups. Sapong is coming off a career year in 2017 where he scored 16 goals. Before last season, Sapong’s career-high for goals in a season was nine. Those 16 goals were the most scored by an American born player in MLS and was also a Philadelphia Union club record. Sapong also shared the wealth in 2017 by recording five assists which tied a career high. Sapong will look to build off the 2017 momentum in the club’s Home Opener.
