The biggest accolade of the month was decided by just a few votes with forward Julian Carranza just edging out Daniel Gazdag for the Independence Blue Cross Player of April.
Carranza turned in his best month as a member of the Union, scoring three goals including the game winner against Charlotte FC on April 4th. Carranza also accounted for the Union's two goals against Canadian sides Toronto FC and CF Montreal to equal his total offensive output for Inter Miami CF in just seven games for the Union.
The Argentinian played left it all on the pitch, leading the Union's high-pressing defense that resulted in a poor pass by Charlotte FC's goalkeeper that led to an easy finish for Gazdag in the second half. Carranza was an efficient on the offensive end, placing all but one of his seven shots attempted on frame in 262 minutes.
