Philadelphia Union defender Kai Wagner's spectacular performance on Sunday evening has earned him a place on Major League Soccer's Team of the Week.
Wagner was the scoring hero in the contest, netting the equalizer in the first half with a first half free kick laser. The set piece specialist fired a left-footed blast from the edge of the box that snuck through the Chicago Fire FC wall that the keeper couldn't react to.
Aside from the goal, Wagner was the top playmaker for the Boys in Blue with five key passes in the contest. On the defensive side the German left back picked up three tackles and an interception.
Philadelphia Union returns to the pitch quickly with a midweek showdown against Toronto FC. Kick from Subaru Park is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday night and will be shown on PHL17 and PhiladelphiaUnion.com.
