Know Your Enemy: Montreal Impact

After a midweek meeting with Columbus Crew SC, the Union will continue their road trip up north this weekend on May 12 as they take on Montreal Impact. Kick-off is slated for 3:00 p.m. ET on PHL17. This will be the first time Philadelphia has matched up against Montreal this season, so here’s everything you need to know about the Impact:

Ignacio Piatti is in the middle of his fifth season for Montreal Impact, and the Argentine has not disappointed since joining the club in 2014. Piatti just appeared in his 100th career match for the Impact and in that span, Piatti has recorded 52 goals and 27 assists. Last season Piatti was named Montreal’s Most Valuable Player and received the Giuseppe Saputo Trophy for the third consecutive season, after leading the Impact with 17 goals while adding six assists in 28 games â€” including 26 starts and 2,368 minutes. Piatti finished the year tied for second in MLS with five multi-goal games and tied for third with four penalty goals.
