- Selected by Philadelphia Union in the second round of the 2012 MLS Super Draft with the 35th overall pick.
- On Oct. 27, 2013, with the Union a man down, Gaddis singlehandedly kept the Union’s playoff hopes alive after stopping two late counter attacks by Toronto FC to preserve a 1-0 win.
- Has started every game for the Union this season, and is tied for the most minutes played this year.
- Slated as the Union’s go-to defender against the opposing team’s most productive forward. His work ethic is undeniable, and he has a knack for the opportune time to make the right tackle. A young, tenacious player, Gaddis has solidified his role on the team and never backs down from a challenge.
Star Moment this Year: DC United star forward Eddie Johnson was quoted as saying, ““He got me, Ray is no joke; it’s obvious in the way he plays that he loves the game and works very hard to be good at it.” Johnson, one of the most productive, and tenured MLS forwards said this after he faced Ray during a match on May 10th. Ray constantly denied Johnson any time and space on the ball, taking Johnson out of his rhythm. This was not a first-time occurrence as Gaddis has made this an expectation during the season.
