Philadelphia Union Announce 2020 Regular-Season Schedule
Union to play 34-match MLS regular-season schedule, beginning on Saturday, February 29 at Toyota Stadium against FC Dallas
CHESTER, Pa. (Dec. 19, 2019) – Coming off a historic season and memorable playoff win, Philadelphia Union, in conjunction with Major League Soccer, have announced the club’s 2020 regular-season schedule. The club enters the new season after setting club records in wins, wins at home, goals and assists last year.
This season’s schedule features the Union playing every Eastern Conference team at home and on the road, including expansion franchise Inter Miami CF, which joins the Eastern Conference for its inaugural season.
The Union face each Western Conference team once, with the exception of Minnesota United FC, Houston Dynamo and Seattle Sounders FC, all of whom the Union will not play due to the addition of two new MLS clubs. Philadelphia travels to expansion club Nashville SC, which joins the Western Conference ahead of its inaugural campaign, on Wednesday, May 13.
In addition to the previously announced home opener against San Jose (March 14), highlight games at Talen Energy Stadium this season include rivalry matches against DC United (March 22), NYCFC (April 19), and New York Red Bulls (Sept. 27), as well as a playoff rematch against Atlanta (May 9). The club will host Decision Day at home for the second consecutive year, this time against Chicago (October 4). Additionally, Inter Miami will make its first-ever visit to Philadelphia on August 1.
Recognizing an exciting 2019 season, the Union will also be featured on U.S. national television seven times, a significant increase from the previous year. The national broadcast schedule is as follows: at LAFC (March 8; FS1), vs. DC (March 22; FS1), at Miami (April 5; ESPN), vs. NYCFC (April 19; FS1), at NYRB (June 6; UniMas), at Atlanta (June 20; ESPN), and vs. NYRB (Sept. 27; ESPN).
