Philadelphia Union today announced ‘Union Yards’, a 7,000-square-foot brew hall and 32,500-square-foot tailgate zone that will be open to all fans to gather and celebrate pre- and post-game as well as select special events.
The new space, located at 12 Reaney St., across from the Sons of Ben tailgate lot, will be open for the April 27 match against Real Salt Lake.
This announcement is made in partnership with Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and Distillery, the presenting partner of the interior bar and proud partner of the Philadelphia Union, and GIANT, presenting partner of the tailgate zone and private dining space and the Official Grocery Store of the Philadelphia Union, Subaru Park, and the WSFS Bank Sportsplex.
“When people think about coming to a Philadelphia Union match, they think about the energy and incredible atmosphere,” said Tim McDermott, Philadelphia Union President. “With Union Yards, we will extend that energy well before and after kick for fans to gather and celebrate, right alongside our supporters. We are confident this will become a fan-favorite pre-game destination, in addition to Subaru Plaza, for all that come to visit Subaru Park.”
The brew hall features the ‘Dogfish Head Bar at Union Yards’, a 50-foot full bar serving 20 beers on tap as well as wine, liquor, and soft drinks. The 4,000-square-foot main hall includes a rustic brick façade, nine clear glass garage doors, 15-foot ceiling fans, nine rows of communal tables, and 10 big screen TVs showing games across Major League Soccer as well as all Philly sporting events.
In addition to the brew hall, the ‘GIANT Boot Room at Union Yards’ is a 1,300-square-foot private space for groups to rent out pre- or post-game featuring multiple televisions, communal seating, indoor/outdoor seating, and Union memorabilia throughout. The GIANT Boot Room at Union Yards will include a feature wall of cleats signed by Union players, legends, and VIPs.
Outside, the ‘GIANT Tailgate at Union Yards’ will be a 32,500 square feet space that will include communal tables, live music and entertainment, tailgate games, as well as lounge seating and firepits with string lights overhead and trees throughout. A selection of burgers, sandwiches and other food will be available from the grill with the option for additional food vendors as well. The lot will feature a GIANT branded mural wall with opportunities for fan photos.
