CHESTER, Pa. (February 22, 2023) – Philadelphia Union today announced a new partnership agreement with NerdWallet, a San Francisco based platform that provides financial guidance to consumers and small and mid-sized businesses, becoming an Official Partner of the Philadelphia Union. This is NerdWallet’s first partnership within Major League Soccer.
As part of the collaboration, NerdWallet will be giving fans the chance to win a private away match watch party in the Union first team video room, where the team holds weekly strategy meetings and film review sessions. The room will be renamed to the NerdWallet Decision Room, a perfect complement to the critical decisions made weekly in that room by the Union.
The partnership will also feature "Ask the Soccer Nerds" social media campaign, the fan-favorite player question video that will be posted on the Union’s official social media channels once a month. In addition, NerdWallet will also be the presenting sponsor of the post-match celebration posts, where fans can reminisce on special goals and wins of the season.
Under the agreement, NerdWallet will be displayed in several locations throughout Subaru Park, including the upper and field side LED ribbons, west side tunnel banner, signage near the entrance to multiple stands, and a halftime interactive feature on the videoboard. Additionally, NerdWallet will be displayed on the DOOP Cam for goal celebrations and will be the presenting sponsor of the guest services booth at Subaru Park.
NerdWallet will also be making an exciting new addition to the Philadelphia Union’s home bench at Subaru Park, adding 22 cobranded custom racing seats to the stadium. The addition demonstrates NerdWallet's commitment to enhancing the overall experience for the players and fans.
