CHESTER, Pa. (March 24, 2022) – Philadelphia Union announced today that they will host Mexican club C.F. Pachuca in an international friendly match at Subaru Park on Saturday, September 24 at 6:00 p.m. ET.
“On behalf of the entire Philadelphia Union organization, we’re thrilled to welcome C.F. Pachuca and their fans to Subaru Park,” said Philadelphia Union President, Tim McDermott. “We look forward to collaborating with C.F. Pachuca to host an exciting international match for our fans and further strengthen our cross-league bonds.”
The match counts as the Bonus Game for all Union Full Season Ticket Members and is included in their memberships. Club de Fútbol Pachuca is one of Mexico’s oldest and successful clubs in Liga MX history. Based in Pachuca, Hidalgo, the club has won six Liga MX titles, most recently the Clausura in 2016. They have also won the CONCACAF Champions' Cup / Champions League five times.
This will be Pachuca’s first visit to Subaru Park for an international friendly. The Union last faced a Liga MX side on August 21, 2021 when they faced Club América in the Concacaf Champions League Semi-final. In 2019, the Union hosted Liga MX side Pumas UNAM in an international friendly at Subaru Park, winning 3-0.
