After leading Philadelphia Union to a 3-1 win on national television, Philadelphia Union forward Kacper Przybylko and Head Coach Jim Curtin have earned Major League Soccer Team of the Week honors.
Przybylko led the way with a second half brace that saw him become the third player in Union history to reach 30 goals in league play, joining Sebastien Le Toux and CJ Sapong. Przybylko put the Union ahead in the 61st minute, finishing off a strong play from Jamiro Monteiro and then notched his second goal of the afternoon with a smooth finish from the penalty spot. The Friendly Striker also added an assist on the Union's first goal of the match, laying the ball off for Cory Burke who found Kai Wagner for the first half blast.
The reigning MLS Coach of the Year, Curtin trusted his squad by making no changes to the Starting XI after bowing out of the Concacaf Champions League Semifinals against Club America. With the match tied at 1-1 in the second half after a Orlando City goal, Curtin turned to his bench with both Daniel Gazdag and Sergio Santos playing key roles in the Union's final two goals of the contest.
The Boys in Blue look to continue their push up the Eastern Conference as they host Atlanta United FC on Saturday, September 25th with the match presented by BIMBO. Kick off from Subaru Park is set for 3:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on TUDN, Univision and Twitter.
