Philadelphia Union II came out of the gates strong and didn't look back as it earned promotion and secured a spot in the Division C championship match of the USL eCup: FIFA 20 edition with a 5-1 win over LA Galaxy II.
With FIFAdelphia Series 2 winner Timothy Hatfield on the sticks for the second-consecutive night, the amateur gamer showcased his championship skill with a goal right off the first opening kickoff that netted a fifth-minute goal for Spanish National Team midfielder Rodri in the all European affair against Sweden.
The scoreline doubled in Union II's favor in the 14th minute with a goal from Rodrigo however Galaxy II made it 2-1 with a 34th minute goal from Sweden.
The second half saw Hatfield and Spain turn up the pressure and earn promotion from Division C to Division B, overcoming a pair of chances off the post with a second strike from Rodrigo to make it 3-1 in the 59th minute. A remarkable nutmeg and score came in the 66th minute from Spanish forward Mikel Oyarzabal.
With promotion secured, Union II looks for the Division C Championship as they'll face off against Orange County SC on Friday, May 29th. The championship match will see Spain take over Cameroon with the match broadcast live on PhiladelphiaUnion.com and Union II's Twitch channel.
