- Union II homegrown forward Nelson Pierre makes his Union debut with the first team tonight with his start atop the formation. Teammate Brooks Thompson too makes his first team debut as tonight's substitute goalkeeper.
- Union fans will see the club debuts of both Richard Odada and Jeremy Rafanello who were signed just before the transfer deadline.
- Goalkeeper Joe Bendik makes his first start in net for the Union in 2022. Bendik's last appearance came back on Sept. 3, 2021, against the New England Revolution.
- Philadelphia Union had eight call-ups in the September FIFA International Break which includes Andre Blake (Jamaica), Daniel Gazdag (Hungary), Jose Martinez (Venezuela), Olivier Mbaizo (Cameroon) in addition to Paxten Aaronson, Jack McGlynn, Quinn Sullivan, and Brandan Craig who were called up to the U-20 USMNT.
