2018 (Philadelphia/Bethlehem): Yaro did not appear for Philadelphia in 2018. For Bethlehem Steel FC, he made six appearances (six starts) at centerback. He made his on-field debut in 2018 with a start vs. FC Cincinnati (April 15) and was part of a shutout effort in a 2-0 win vs. Ottawa (August 22).
2017 (Philadelphia/Bethlehem): Yaro made six appearances (four starts) at centerback for Philadelphia in 2017. On February 9, it was announced that he would be out for three to four months after undergoing successful shoulder surgery. He made his first appearance of the season by coming on as a second-half substitute at centerback at NYCFC (June 3). He started his first match of the season with a nod at Columbus (July 22). For Bethlehem Steel FC, Yaro made five regular-season appearances (five starts) at centerback.
2016 (Philadelphia/Bethlehem): Yaro, a Generation adidas player, joined the Union as the second overall pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. He began the season with Bethlehem Steel FC, appearing in the club’s first three matches. He would make a total of four Steel appearances on the year. In mid-April, he settled in with Philadelphia and played 17 matches for the Union during his rookie year. He also made one appearance in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
COLLEGE EXPERIENCE
Yaro played three seasons with the Hoyas, started 57 games and was named an NSCAA First Team All-American and the Big East Defensive Player of the Year in 2015. In 2014, he was a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist and was also selected as the college Player of the Year by TopDrawerSoccer.com during his sophomore season.
