Union II will be back at Subaru Park after just over a week’s break, returning on Sunday evening to take on FC Cincinnati 2 for the second time this season. Tune in at 6 p.m. with MLS Season Pass on Apple TV to watch the action!
The last time the two teams met was on June 4th at Northern Kentucky University, where Cincinnati 2 won the match by one goal. Since then, the Ohio side has won only two games, falling far down the rankings to 12th place out of 13 teams in the Eastern Conference. Now, their record stands at 5-12-4 and favorably for the Boys in Blue, they have yet to achieve a win on the road so far this season.
Union II has faced a vastly different summer slate compared to their opponent -- they currently hold a seven-game streak without a loss. Their recent success has solidified their spot at 6th place with 33 points, sitting just behind Orlando City B with 34.
Marlon LeBlanc’s squad most recently defeated New York City FC II 2-0 with goals from Philadelphia Union Academy’s Frankie Westfield and David Vazquez. Westfield’s effort marked the 17-year-old forward’s first-ever pro goal, earning him Rising Star of the Matchday honors.
