CHESTER, Pa. (June 18, 2019) – After leading Bethlehem Steel FC to a 3-1 victory over Saint Louis FC last weekend, midfielder Zach Zandi was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 15.

The accolade marks the second time this year that Zandi has earned an appearance on the USL Championship Team of the Week and the fifth such honor for Steel FC this season. Zandi, a Villanova University alumnus, was a key piece of the Steel’s win over Saint Louis FC as his two assists (his fourth and fifth of the season), including one after the boys in blue were reduced to 10 men.

The West Chester, Pa. native has had a strong showing for Steel FC in his rookie season, marking one goal and notching five assists through 11 matches (nine starts) in 2019. Zandi also made history by becoming the first player to play competitively at all four levels of the Philadelphia Union organization: the Union Academy, Reading United AC, Bethlehem Steel FC, and the Union first team when he appeared as a substitute in a US Open Cup fourth round match against DC United.

Bethlehem Steel FC hosts the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Goodman Stadium on Saturday, June 22 at 5:00 p.m. ET. Tickets are available here, with the match set to be broadcast on ESPN+. Fans will note the change in location to Goodman Stadium, with the match set to be the club’s first in the Lehigh Valley in 2019 and also feature the return of former Philadelphia Union goalkeeper John McCarthy.
