One play produced two Independence Blue Cross Achievement Unlocks on Saturday night as Philadelphia Union battled the New England Revolution.
After making his debut just last week in the club's home opener, Indiana Vessilev collected his first assist for the Boys in Blue in second half stoppage time. Taking to the pitch in place of Quinn Sullivan in the 64th minute, the 24-year-old raced into the box and found Jovan Lukic at the top of the box which the Servian kissed off the post and into the back of the net to secure the three points and extend the Union's unbeaten start to the season.
Vassilev was acquired by the Union on February 21st from St. Louis CITY SC in exchange for $400,000 in 2025 General Allocation Money (GAM), $600,000 in 2026 GAM, and up to an additional $250,000 if certain performance-based metrics are met. Additionally, CITY SC will receive a future sell-on and trade percentage. Vassilev set a career high with four goals during the 2024 season, across all competitions, and ranked tied for second on CITY in assists (4) and fourth in regular season appearances (29).
