Box Score | Philadelphia Union 2, FC Cincinnati 2

Philadelphia Union faced off against FC Cincinnati on Saturday night at Subaru Park, drawing 2-2. In the first half, midfielder Jose Martinez opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a right footed shot from the outside of the box. The Union doubled their lead in the 37th minute when midfielder Daniel Gazdag converted a penalty to become the first player in MLS history to score 10 penalty kick goals in a single MLS regular season. In the second half, Cincinnati’s Aaron-Salem Boupendza cut the score in half in the 49th minute. In the 76th minute, Brandon Vazquez scored the equalizer off a right footed shot from the center of the goal. 

The Union travel to Bank of America Stadium to play Charlotte FC on Wednesday, September 20 (7:30 p.m. / Apple TV).

  • Midfielder Daniel Gazdag became the first player in MLS history to score 10 penalty kick goals in a single MLS regular season with his penalty kick goal tonight against FC Cincinnati.
  • With his start against FC Cincinnati tonight, defender Jakob Glesnes joins Chris Klein (118) as the only two field players in MLS history to start 100 consecutive MLS regular season games. He is the sixth player overall to reach the milestone in the league.
  • Jack McGlynn became the fifth homegrown in club history to reach 25 career starts in MLS play, joining Auston Trusty, Brenden Aaronson, Mark McKenzie, and Nathan Harriel. He also registered his third assist of the season.
  • Midfielder Jose Martinez scored his third goal of the season.
  • Defender Kai Wagner has 37 assists in regular-season matches since joining MLS in 2019. No other defender has more than 26 in that time.
