With their spot in the knockout rounds already secure, Philadelphia Union Academy's U-18 side concluded group play on Monday afternoon against Nashville SC. With the top two teams in each group guaranteed to advance, the Tennessee side nabbed the only goal of the match to finish second in the group behind the two-time defending GA Cup Champion Union.
Despite the loss, the goal was just the second the Union U-18s had allowed so far in the tournament after picking up a 2-1 win over St. Louis CITY SC and then a 3-0 win over Mexican side Club Nexeca.
The pressure ramps up after an off day as the Baby Snakes turn their attention to the Round of 16 at the 2025 Generation adidas Cup. They'll be back on the pitch on Tuesday afternoon when they take on Chicago Fire FC.
