Ahead of the club's trip to Canada for an Eastern Conference battle against Toronto FC on Wednesday night, Philadelphia Union Head Coach Jim Curtin provided an update on the status of the squad.
Sergio Santos
“I wanted to get Sergio out there at the end of the game against Nashville to get some fitness but we didn’t want to change the formation because it felt like stable and the guys were executing really well. Plus it wasn’t a game where there was a lot of space behind Nashville with his speed. We held him off but I still think he is good for a half of soccer if needed so he can come into the game and change it quickly with his pace.”
Cory Burke
“Cory Burke I think will be ready for FC Cincinnati. Another striker in the stable to give Kacper a little bit of rest or a break but Kacper like a really good striker wants every minute.”
Andre Blake
“The one absence that we will have is Andre Blake. Unfortunately Andre’s grandmother passed away so condolences go out to whole Blake family. There are things that are bigger than the game of soccer so he will miss the game and be back in Jamaica. He will return in time for the weekend.”
