Philadelphia Union midfielder Daniel Gazdag was named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Week for Week 34, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Gazdag turned in a pair of strong performances that helped the Boys in Blue move into second place in Eastern Conference table and secure a berth in the 2021 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. In the midweek fixture at Toronto FC, Gazdag set up the key pass to captain Alejandro Bedoya inside the opening minute for the early lead. Gazdag wasn't done with yet another early match play against FC Cincinnati with an 11th minute goal and then a secondary assist on the insurance goal by Paxten Aaronson.
Philadelphia Union are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they face off against rival New York City FC on Decision Day. Kick off from Yankee Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m. ET with coverage of the match on PHL17 and PhiladelphiaUnion.com.
