Philadelphia Union's Cormac "Doolsta" Dooley started off his quest for a third eMLS title Friday afternoon at the 2019 eMLS Cup in Boston, claiming results in eight of 10 matches to claim the regular-season Eastern Conference title.
With the top spot in the conference, 18-year-old earns a bye into the Eastern Conference Semifinals and will begin his quest for The Cup Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET. All knockout matches will be streamed live on PhiladelphiaUnion.com when the streams start up Saturday evening.
Much like his first two eMLS League Series events, Doolsta came out strong and composed with three-straight wins against the best of the Western Conference. In a rematch of eMLS League Series One, Houston Dynamo's Kid M3mito avenged a finals loss to Doolsta with a 3-2 victory. Despite back-to-back losses, Doolsta showed the poise of a champion by reeling off five straight victories and a draw to conclude regular season play. During the final stretch, Doolsta outscored his competition by a whopping 23-11 margin.
Doolsta will face off Saturday night against the winner of No. 4 LyesMTL of FC Montreal and No. 5 seed FIFA Abe of Orlando City.
