Philadelphia Union midfielder Daniel Gazdag was named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Week bench for Week 2, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Gazdag helped the Union to its first win of the 2022 campaign, recording the game-winning goal in the 56th minute of play on the road. Gazdag timed his run perfectly to finish off a cross from Julian Carranza that capped a two goal burst by the team in just three minutes. The goal was the Hungarian's only shot of the match and just his second touch in the box but was more than enough for the three points.
The Boys in Blue are back at home next weekend with they host the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, March 12th.
