Philadelphia Union defender Jakob Glesnes has been named to the MLS Team of the Week for the third time in 2021, helping the Boys in Blue continue their push up the Eastern Conference standings with a 1-0 win over Atlanta United FC.
The center back led the team with three clearances and won 83% of his defensive duels to shut down ATL's attack. Glesnes was also involved in the Union's offensive dominance with a team-best 93% passing accuracy and made three tackles in the shutout win.
The honor is Glesnes' third appearance in the league's weekly honors and the Union's 14th overall honor in 2021. The Union are back in action in just 48 hours as they make the trip north to New Jersey for a rivalry showdown against New York Red Bulls. Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, September 29th, with the action on PHL17 and PhiladelphiaUnion.com.
