Philadelphia Union homegrown defender Nathan Harriel has been named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Week for the first time in his career after his strong performance in Week 4.
The news was officially announced by the league on Monday afternoon and saw the right back promoted to the XI after receiving bench accolades last week. Harriel played a key role in the Union's first win on the road at Yankee Stadium, riffling a cross that connected with Danial Gazdag at the far post for a 2-0 lead. On the defensive end, the 20-year-old locked down last year's Golden Boot winner Taty Castellanos as the Union racked up another shutout. Harriel led the team with five interceptions and added four tackles to continue the Union's best start in club history.
With the international break giving the squad a short break, they'll be back in action for a busy April schedule that begins with a home match against league newcomers Charlotte FC. Kick off from Subaru Park is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 2nd. Tickets for the match can be purchased by clicking HERE.
