After helping jump start Philadelphia Union to a playoff-clinching draw, homegrown Quinn Sullivan has been selected for the MLSSoccer.com Team of the Matchday bench.
Sullivan entered the contest at Charlotte FC in the 66th minute and promptly trimmed the deficit to one four minutes later. Philly’s addition nearly turned into a goal as Julian Carranza sent a hard cross to the backpost for Sullivan but the play was called offside in the 69th minute. One minute later the duo were perfectly aligned as Sullivan shot a pass out wide to the Argentinian forward with acres of space. Racing on the right side, Carranza hit the Union homegrown right in stride for a right-footer curler that dripped into the corner to make it 2-1.
Sullivan and the rest of the Boys in Blue are back in action on Saturday night when they host LAFC for Fiesta Hispana presented by Bimbo Bakeries USA. Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with the action free on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
