Ahead of Philadelphia Union's home match against the Montreal Impact on Sunday evening at Subaru Park, we're proud to announce tonight's Subaru Love Promise Playmaker is the Rudolph Family.
Inspired to give back to the community that had given them so much, Mark and Gina Rudolph embarked on a mission which began with a toy drive they initiated for St. Christopher’s Hospital in Philadelphia. Their goal was to spread happiness to the children at St. Christopher’s, and at the same time, be a source of support to their parents and families.
Mark and Gina enjoyed this annual mission immensely but felt that there was much more they could do to aid families of the Delaware Valley. The closer their project brought them to the families in need, the more they discovered that they wanted to make a lasting difference in the lives of children. This quest led them to create The Dream Foundation – dedicated to assisting families with ill children and providing them with moral and financial support at a time when it is most needed.
Since its origination in 2004 The Dream Foundation has expanded its toy drive to numerous hospitals including Cooper, CHOP, Inspira, DuPont, and St. Christophers.
Mark and Gina's two daughters, Madison and Mia, started to get seriously involved in the foundation's efforts around 2009. They assisted with car washes, pasta dinners, and toy drives as well as an annual Halloween Toy Drive Fundraiser.
In 2018, Mark, Gina, Madison, and Mia were honored as Legends in the Cumberland County community by the Complete Care Health Network.
Since the pandemic began, the Rudolph Family decided to use The Dream Foundations platform to give back to the frontline workers and meal centers in their community. They donated meals to hospitals, police department, fire department, and EMT’s, as well as the local meal centers in their community.
Although their in person fundraising event has been canceled due to Covid-19, they are continuing their efforts to feed the frontlines and marching on with their mission of dreaming of better lives for families financially overwhelmed by a child’s illness.
