After getting prepared last week with a fan challenge, Philadelphia Union esports competitor ThiagoCapo12 makes his eMLS debut on Tuesday evening as he kicks off eMLS League Series 1 presented by Coca-Cola Zero Sugar.
Tuesday marks the 2023 season kick off that will span January 24-25 with remote qualifiers that will be streamed fully on Twitch. The Union gamer play 13 matches in that span with hopes of receiving an automatic berth into the knockout round as one of the top 4 finishers. All other competitors will then be seeded into a group stage that will take place on Saturday, January 28th. The final series bracket will feature the Top 4 from the qualifying round going up against the top two players in each group from the group stage that will square off in a two-leg battle until a champion is crowned on Sunday, January 29th.
ThiagoCapo12 kicks off the action on Tuesday with contests against Charlotte FC starting at 6 p.m. ET with the biggest test coming against D.C. United's KingCJ0 who enters the season ranked No. 3 in the first batch of eMLS Power Rankings. Wednesday's slate features a Union rival as he takes on FC Cincinnati's Cisse to close out the qualifying round.
