Philadelphia Union and MLS have mutually terminated the contract with goalkeeper Rais Mbolhi, the club announced Monday. Per club and league policy, additional details were not disclosed.
Mbolhi originally joined the club midway through the 2014 season on July 30. He started nine games over two seasons for the Union, compiling a 1-4-4 record. He made his debut against San Jose Earthquakes on Aug. 24, 2014, a 4-2 win. During his spell with the Union, Mbolhi represented the Algerian National Team at the African Cup of Nations, both at the finals in 2015, as well as qualifying in 2014.
The Philadelphia Union return to action at PPL Park on Saturday, Aug. 29, against New England Revolution. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the match will be televised on The Comcast Network
