Philadelphia Union's big win over the Portland Timbers netted a pair of players on Major League Soccer’s Team of the Week for Week 7, the league announced on Monday afternoon with both Kacper Przybylko and Jack Elliott getting the honors.
Przybylko netted his eighth goal across all competitions and his third in MLS play on Sunday night as the Boys in Blue knocked out the Timbers, 3-0. Przybylko's game put him all alone as the club's No. 3 all-time leading scorer with 26 goals. Przybylko also added an assist five minutes later as he provided the key flick on Sergio Santos' goal in the 31st minute.
Defender Jack Elliott also picked up a goal, finishing off a play in front of goal off yet another Union set piece. Elliott's goal was his first of 2021 and the seventh of his MLS career. Elliott along with goalkeeper Andre Blake and Union defense picked up their MLS-leading fifth clean sheet of the season and third straight for the first time since 2018.
Philadelphia Union return to action in three weeks when they travel for a Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Quarterfinal rematch against Atlanta United FC. Kick off from the ATL is set for 2 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN.
