CHICAGO (March 3, 2022) – The U.S. Women’s National Team will meet Uzbekistan for the first time in a pair of friendlies that includes a return to Subaru Park on Tuesday, April 12 at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN2 and Univision Networks).Â
Philadelphia has a long history of hosting the U.S. Women’s National Team, dating back to the 2003 FIFA Women’s World Cup and beyond. More recently, the city played host to the USWNT during their 2019 Victory Tour at Lincoln Financial Field, where Philadelphia set a new attendance record for a stand-alone friendly with a crowd of 49,504. Philadelphia also welcomed the SheBelieves Cup to near sell-out crowds at Subaru Park in both 2017 and 2019.
Uzbekistan will be the 55th different country the USA has played as women’s soccer continues to blossom around the globe. Uzbekistan is ranked 45th in the world and seventh in Asia. Uzbekistan played in the Turkish Women’s Cup during the February FIFA window, defeating Lithuania 1-0, falling to Ukraine 2-0 and drawing with Venezuela, 0-0.
