After leading Philadelphia Union II to a 3-2 victory over New York Red Bulls II, midfielder Jack McGlynn was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 7.
The accolade marks the first time this year that a Union II player has earned an appearance on the USL Championship Team of the Week. The 17-year-old had a standout afternoon against the rival Red Bulls notching both his first professional goal and assist in the victory. McGlynn found the tying goal in first-half stoppage time with a timely run into the box to make it 2-2 at the break. The continued the strong afternoon in the midfielder with a timely intercept followed by a perfectly threaded ball to Jack Jasinski in the 71st minute that proved to be the game winner.
Philadelphia Union II returns to USL Championship action against Hartford Athletic on Wednesday, August 19th. Kickoff from Subaru Park is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and will broadcast on ESPN+.
