Philadelphia Union II announced today that defender Neil Pierre has been selected to join the U.S. Under-19 Men's Youth National Team for their upcoming training camp in Valencia, Spain.
Pierre won't be the only member of the Philadelphia Union organization attending the camp as the homegrown duo of CJ Andrew Rick and David Vazquez were also called in for the October camp.
The callup continues Pierre's pathway with U.S. Soccer having already been called into the U-19s in March and playing in all three matches for the U-18s last month when they traveled to Japan. Pierre has previously represented the U.S. at the U-15, U-16 levels as well.
The accomplishment is the latest of a memorable 2024 season where he won his second Generation adidas Cup with the Union Academy's U-17 squad and was named to the tournament's Best XI. With Union II this season, Pierre has appeared in 21 matches with 19 starts and has guided the youngest squad in MLS NEXT Pro to the top of the Eastern Conference with 52 points entering Decision Day on Sunday, October 6th.
