We are looking for staff to work with young people in a grassroots club environment, teaching the fundamentals and inspiring a love of the game.

Position / Role:

  • This role would be a part-time position with us as a W2 employee, with the coaching being based primarily within our Affiliate Club network and grassroots-level programs.

Days / Hours:

  • Traditionally our Affiliate clubs will practice in the evenings, Monday through Thursday anytime between the hours of 5pm - 9pm, plus weekend coaching is available typically 9am - 1pm
  • We have plug and play model so you can work as much or as little as you like, however, if you choose to work a set day, you will be expected to work that day every week for the duration of the program and be 100% committed to the cause.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Grassroots License online AND 1 in-person Grassroots License (or have it booked in)
  • D License and above preferred
  • Clean Background checks and SafeSport
  • Driving License and access to a vehicle

Interview Process for Selected Candidates:

  • Virtual meeting via Zoom or Microsoft Teams
  • Candidate will provide a 15-minute video of them coaching in their current environment
  • Candidate will be invited into the club to deliver a session with our players
  • From this in-person interview, a decision will be made on the next steps.

The Union Youth Training Programs are currently looking to add new and experienced coaches to our staff. Positions are available within the following areas:

  • Part Time Coaches - Up to 29 hours per week year-round
  • Seasonal Coaches (Summer / Winter Camps & Clinics)
  • Junior Coaches - (Current Soccer Players Ages 18 & Older)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and/or assist trainings within the greater Philadelphia area 1 to 5 times a week, depending on availability and willingness to work. With the exceptions of summer camps and holiday clinics, goalkeeper trainings typically occur within the timeframe of 5-9 pm on weeknights.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner as a representative of the Philadelphia Union.
  • Advise, educate, and provide development opportunities to the affiliate clubs.
  • Provide the Youth Director with weekly reports on programs directly involved in.
  • Oversee onsite programs and manage youth programs.
