Alejandro Bedoya connects with Super Bowl Champ in artistic event

Bedoya vs. Columbus Crew SC 2018

Alejandro Bedoya is man of many interests. On top of being an international footballer, Bedoya has his hand in a variety of concepts off the pitch – including a thriving coffee business in South Florida, a stake in ICNCLST, a creative agency and art advisory that curates relationships between artists and commercial partners.

Bedoya has been a massive advocate of BoConcept, a furniture store that is modeled to making modern design furniture available to the urban-minded customer.

For Bedoya, his love for the style of BoConcept started long before he arrived to the City of Brotherly Love.

“BoConcept is a Danish furniture store. I lived in Scandinavia for a few years, I love that minimalistic style, so when I came to Philly they had a BoConcept here and I reached out to them and got connected,” Bedoya said. “Pretty much my entire house is furnished by BoConcept and we’ve remained friends.”

As Bedoya continues to raise his family in Philadelphia, the Captain of the Union does what he can to explore his city and get in touch with the community.

Recently, Bedoya crossed paths with Super Bowl Champion Malcolm Jenkins of the Philadelphia Eagles at an event that has peaked Bedoya’s interest for a long time.

The event that drew the attention of the Union Captain had a unique blend of arts and company. The fashion boutique Damari Saville hosted the event and the co-founder is an individual that Philadelphia sports fans are well aware of.

“Malcolm Jenkins started this fashion boutique with his friends called the Damari Savile, it’s in the city on Walnut Street. They furnished that store and the showroom with some of the BoConcept furniture,” Bedoya said. “That’s the connection between those two. They threw an official announcement type of event that night featuring BoConcept at Damari Savile.”

Finding time off the pitch can be a challenge for any professional athlete, particularly for the Union Captain who has a family to tend to in his off time, but that doesn’t stop the cultured veteran from making the most out of what the city of Philadelphia has to offer.

Bedoya has been extremely outspoken on how vibrant Philadelphia is.

“For me as a guy in Philly I try to network and try to get immersed in the Philly culture and that’s another way of doing that,” Bedoya said. “There were a lot of people I was able to meet, who grew up in Philly. I brought my neighbor. It’s nice to get out once in a while and enjoy what Philadelphia has to offer in the city and with the people.”
