Philadelphia Union announced today that the duo of Andre Blake and Cory Burke have received an international call-up for Jamaica ahead of 2022 World Cup Qualifier matches that will take place in the coming weeks.
Blake and Burke join the Jamaican National Team as they continue the fourth round of the World Cup qualifier group stages. The duo were last called up in November for their pair of qualifying matches against El Salvador and the U.S. Blake, who captains the squad, has 56 caps as the starting goalkeeper for the team. In his most recent World Cup qualifier matches, Blake recorded three saves in a 1-1 draw against El Salvador and helped the team receive a point in a 1-1 draw against the U.S. Burke has 26 caps and 7 goals for Jamaica and featured in the match against El Salvador on November 13, 2021.
Jamaica will face Mexico (Jan. 27, 7:00 p.m.), Panama (Jan. 30, 6:05 p.m.), and Costa Rica (Feb. 2, 7:00 p.m.).
