Ahead of the club's first round match in the 2020 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs against the New England Revolution, Philadelphia Union Head Coach Jim Curtin provided an update on the status of the squad.
Andre Blake
“Andre has been able to train every day in some way, shape or form but the last three days he's been fully in training with the handling and testing the hand and its passed every test so far. We will see how he responds to today's training session but he's ready to go.”
Jamiro Monteiro
“Monteiro played with his national team and did very well in both games and we got to watch both of them. For him to come back now, he's been a key part for our team. He didn't miss a ton of training and he's been sharp all week. Jamiro was tested while with his national team and was tested as soon as he got back here and was able to rejoin the group in training much sooner than if he had flown commercial.”
Jack de Vries
“Jack de Vries is in concussion protocol and so he is not available for selection.”
Olivier Mbaizo
“He had a mix up with a green card and wasn't able to get onto the charter so he had to fly back commercially and has had to quarantine so he is here in Philly but will miss the game unfortunately.”
Matt Real
“Matt is healing quickly and I think will be back for the playoffs which is a good option to have as he’s had such a good season contributing either as a starter or off the bench.”
