This weekend's showdown with LAFC is more than just #bEASTvsWest. Philadelphia Union will host Kick Childhood Cancer Night at Talen Energy Stadium and the Union Shop's Fanatics Item of the Match is our limited-edition Fearless 43 tee!
The Fearless 43 initiative builds on past Union Kick Childhood Cancer initiatives by creating footwear and hockey sticks for Philadelphia athletes. This year, the Union partnered with Kisses For Kyle and Adidas to work with 43 childhood cancer patients in the Greater Philadelphia area to design cleats and hockey sticks for the participating athletes that will be worn during practice and games during the month of September, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This initiative is called Fearless 43, in reference to the statistic that every day 43 children are diagnosed with cancer.
Four of the Boys in Blue will sport custom cleats with with designs that interpret art from the 43 childhood cancer patients this weekend, and the Fanatics Item of the Match features all 43 designs in one place. Each design has a special meaning to the artist so this will be an item to treasure. And even better, a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit Kisses For Kyle.
