Philadelphia Union Homegrown David Vazquez has been called up to the U.S. Under-20 Men's Youth National Team for the upcoming 2024 Concacaf Men's U-20 Championship in Mexico from July 19 to August 4, with matches taking place in Celaya and Irapuato. The tournament will send four nations to the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
This will mark the first time Vazquez receives a U20 National Team call-up. Prior to that, Vazquez has earned 17 appearances for the U.S. Under-17 Men’s Youth National Team, registering four assists in the 2023 CONCACAF U-17 Championship to secure a second-place finish and a 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup berth.
As the tournament’s top seed, the U.S. was drawn into Group A and opens the competition against Jamaica on Friday, July 19 (10 p.m. ET), squares up with Cuba on Monday, July 22 (10 p.m. ET) and finishes the group stage against Costa Rica on Thursday, July 25 (10 p.m. ET).
All matches will be broadcast in the U.S. in English on Fox Sports networks and in Spanish by TelevisaUnivision networks. A full schedule will be released at a later date.
