Philadelphia Union Player Pathway Program Hosts Club Friendlies
On February 1st, a truly frigid Saturday, The Philadelphia Union Youth hosted our inaugural Player Pathway Program Club Friendlies, featuring pre-academy clubs from the Philadelphia Union, NY Red Bulls, and NYCFC. The event brought together young talents from three MLS clubs for a series of round-robin matches, showcasing the skills and potential of players born between 2011 and 2016.
Showcasing Regional Talent
One of the highlights of the PPP Friendlies was the opportunity to witness the talent and unique playstyle of the three different MLS regions. The young players from Philadelphia Union, NY Red Bulls, and NYCFC also had time to interact with one another after the games concluded. It was a valuable experience for players and coaches alike.
āWe wanted to host a collaborative event that showcased the strength of all of our programs. We were able to bring together three great programs that have had a massive impact on Youth soccer in the community. We hope that we can have these again and continue our collaborative relationship with Red Bull and NYCFC."
Jason Schwartz, Philadelphia Union PPP Head Coach
Looking Ahead
The Inaugural PPP Club Friendlies has strengthened the relationships between the three MLS clubs. As the Philadelphia Union Player Pathway Program continues to grow, events like the PPP Club Friendlies will play a vital role in developing the next generation of soccer stars. The success of this event is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the players, coaches, and organizers involved. We look forward to seeing more exciting events and the continued development of these young athletes in the future.
