Philadelphia Union, in conjunction with U.S. Soccer, announced today that Homegrown midfielder Jack McGlynn has been named to the first United States Men’s National Team January training camp under USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino. The camp will take place in Ft. Lauderdale and see the USMNT
This will mark the second time the mdifielder has received a senior National Team call-up, with his last appearance coming last January where he made his senior team debut against Slovenia in a friendly on January, 20, 2024. McGlynn was also a member of the U.S. Men's Olympic Soccer Team for the 2024 Summer Olympics where he featured in all four matches as they advanced to the Quarterfinals. In the Group A finale against Guinea, McGlynn registered an assist, becoming the first Union player to do so at an Olympic games.
In the 2024 MLS season, McGlynn appeared in 30 matches (25 starts) logging 2,313 minutes. As a midfielder, McGlynn scored four goals and added seven assists. The 2024 regular season saw McGlynn set career highs in games, starts, minutes, goals, assists, shots and shots on target. On October 9th, McGlynn ranked No. 3 on the MLS 22 under 22 list, making an appearance for the third consecutive season.
McGlynn joins 23 other players for the training camp which begins Jan. 7 in Ft. Lauderdale, with the team opening its 2025 schedule against 2024 Copa America quarterfinalists Venezuela on Jan. 18 at Chase Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Kickoff for the USA’s first match of the year is set for 3 p.m. ET, and will be broadcast live on TNT, Telemundo, Universo, Max and Peacock, with Spanish-language audio available on Fútbol de Primera radio. The team will then head to Orlando and complete the two-match Florida swing with a friendly against Costa Rica on Jan. 22 at Inter&Co Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET, with TNT, truTV, Universo, Max and Peacock broadcing the match live.
