Philadelphia Union forward Julian Carranza has been named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Week. The Argentinian helped the Union continue their best start in club history, scoring the game-winning goal against Charlotte FC on Saturday night.
Carranza's first DOOP came in the fourth minute as the forward made a hard run into the box and finished off a cross from Sergio Santos. Carranza played a key role in the Union's other goal as well, pressing up high and forcing a bad pass from the Charlotte FC goalkeeper. The pass was intercepted by Daniel Gazdag at the top of the 18, and was quickly finished off with the net wide open. Gazdag's goal was his fourth straight match with a tally and earned him a spot on the Team of the Week bench as a result as well.
