Philadelphia Union is an organization that takes a lot of pride in creating a quality and enjoyable environment for all who enter the PPL Park facilities. To make such goals possible, the organization needs to make sure the staff has the same initiatives.
Ovations, a food services company backed by Philadelphia based Comcast Spectacor, has a staff that embodies that same belief.
Meet Adrian Young. A chef for Ovations, who has worked in the club at PPL Park for five years, epitomizes everything a dedicated employee should be with his commitment and drive for success.
While Young worked at PPL Park since the first season, it was not until this past March that he took up his chef position full-time. In the time since then, he continued to show his dedication and value within Ovations and earned himself a significant promotion. In July, Young was offered the job as an executive chef for Ovations in their Hartford, Conn. chapter.
Naturally, he accepted the position and instantly became another PPL Park success story.
Young describes his personality as “enthusiastic” and that is a trait he also brought to his job as a chef.
“I think having a good personality is very important,” he said. “It is an attribute that helps make good connections with the people around you.”
Young prides himself on his attention to detail and his dedication to making sure all the food is of the utmost quality before it is served. While Young always showed a leadership role in the kitchen at PPL Park, he was always willing to improve himself.
“I am a very willing person when it comes to learning,” Young said. “I care about the food and the quality of what is going out to the fans and staff.”
“It was very shocking when I was told I would be an executive chef,” Young said. It is a big step and it is challenging. I never expected to be up here in this position, but it is a once in a lifetime opportunity and that is why I took it.”
As Young continues to further his career in Hartford, the Union wish him the very best and hope that his enthusiasm and dedication bring him great success going forward.
