Philadelphia Union announced today that Andre Blake, Cory Burke and Alvas Powell have received an international call-up for Jamaica ahead of 2022 World Cup Qualifier matches. The trio are part of seven call-ups in October which include , , and . These call ups come in addition to Paxten Aaronson, Jack McGlynn and Quinn Sullivan receiving call ups to the U-20 USMNT training camp in Celaya, Mexico where they will compete in the Revelations Cup in preparation for the 2022 Concacaf U-20 Championship. Blake, Powell, and Burke have once again joined the Jamaican National Team for their pair of matches in the group stage of the World Cup qualifiers.
Blake and Powell were last called up in October for their three qualifying matches which Burke missed due to injury. Blake, who captains the squad, has 54 caps as the starting goalkeeper for the team. In his most recent World Cup Qualifier matches, Blake recorded five saves in a 2-0 win against Honduras, picked up a clean sheet against Canada, and registered five saves against the U.S. Powell, has 57 caps and featured in two of the three of Jamaica’s most recent qualifier matches. Jamaica will face El Salvador (Nov. 12, 10:00 p.m.) and the United States (Nov. 16, 5:00 p.m.).
