Philadelphia Union's big win over the Toronto FC netted a pair of players on Major League Soccer’s Team of the Week for Week X, the league announced on Thursday afternoon with both Sergio Santos and Daniel Gazdag getting the honors.
Gazdag had a breakout performance netting his first goal with the Boys in Blue with a calm finish in the 33rd minute from the penalty spot. Gazdag also picked up his second assist of the season earlier in the match, delivering a perfectly placed corner kick that connected with Jakob Glesnes.
Santos too had a strong night, drawing the PK that was finished off by Gazdag. After netting a hat trick the last time the Union faced Toronto FC in 2020, he picked up yet another goal with a flick over the keeper in the 36th minute to send the Union faithful inside Subaru Park to their feet.
Philadelphia Union continues a busy August schedule when they travel to Eastern Conference leading New England Revolution on Sunday evening. Kick off is set for 6 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on PHL17 as well as on PhiladelphiaUnion.com.
